01Who we are#
Jactechnology LLC (“Jactechnology”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is an information technology services company based in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website at jact.tech (the “site”) or write to us from it, how we use and protect that information, and the choices and rights you have.
Jactechnology LLC is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (under European and UK law, we are its “controller”). You can reach us at jcaceres@
This policy covers the site only. Information we handle for clients while delivering IT services, including data in the systems we support for them, is governed by our written agreements with those clients.
02What we collect#
We collect as little as possible. There are three kinds of information, and only the first is collected automatically.
a) Server logs
When your browser requests a page or file, our hosting server records a standard access log entry, which we use for security and troubleshooting. Each entry contains:
- your IP address;
- the date and time of the request;
- the URL requested;
- the referring URL (the page that linked to ours, if your browser sends it); and
- your browser’s user agent (a short text that describes your browser and operating system).
We do not combine log entries with other information to identify you, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
b) Emails you send us
If you email us, whether directly or with a draft prepared by our contact form, we receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email address, company, the topics you selected and your message.
c) Settings saved in your browser
Our main pages save two small settings in your browser’s local storage: jt_lang (the language you chose) and jt_consent (your acknowledgment of our privacy notice). They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Our Cookie & Storage Notice describes them in detail. Our separately built product overview page may also remember a display preference in your browser, as section 07 explains.
What we do not collect
The site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or social media embeds. We do not buy personal information or obtain it from data brokers, and we do not collect sensitive personal information (such as government identification numbers, financial account details, precise geolocation, health information or biometric data) through the site.
California notice at collection
The table below lists the categories of personal information we collect through the site, using the categories of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”). We do not sell or share any of it.
| Category | Examples | Source | Purpose | Retention | Sold or shared? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | IP address; your name and email address if you write to us | Your browser (IP address); you (name, email) | Site security and troubleshooting; replying to you | Logs: no longer than 90 days. Emails: see section 08 | No |
| Internet or other electronic network activity | Server log entries: date and time, requested URL, referring URL, browser user agent | Your browser | Site security and troubleshooting | No longer than 90 days | No |
| Professional information | Your company name, if you provide it | You | Replying to you; providing services you request | See section 08 | No |
| Other information you choose to send | The content of your message and the topics you select | You | Replying to you; providing services you request | See section 08 | No |
03The contact form#
The contact form on our home page looks like an email “New message” window. It is a convenience for writing to us, not a data collection system.
Our contact form does not send anything to us or store anything on our servers. When you press Send, your browser prepares a draft: if you choose Open in my email app, it opens the email program on your device; if you choose Send with Gmail or Send with Outlook on the web, it opens that provider’s website in a new tab with your draft (recipient, subject, message, and the name, email, company and topics you entered) included in the web address so the provider can prefill it. That provider handles the draft under its own privacy terms. We receive your message only if you send it.
- Gmail is the default option. Gmail is operated by Google LLC and Outlook on the web by Microsoft Corporation. Their privacy terms apply to anything you do on their sites; they may ask you to sign in and may use their own cookies.
- Copy message places the draft on your device’s clipboard so you can paste it into any email. Nothing is sent.
- Very long messages. If a draft is too long to fit in a web address, the form copies the full text to your clipboard and opens a shorter draft that asks you to paste it in.
- Nothing is kept. The form does not save drafts, does not remember which send option you used and leaves no record of what you typed on our server.
- Without JavaScript, the form works as a standard
mailto:form that opens your email app with your entries in the message body.
04How we use information#
We use personal information only to:
- operate the site, keep it secure, detect and prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems (server logs);
- read and reply to your messages, prepare proposals and provide the services you request (emails);
- keep business records of our correspondence and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
- protect our rights and respond to lawful requests (see section 06); and
- remember your language and your privacy choice (browser storage, which stays on your device).
We do not use personal information for advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling. If we ever want to use it for a materially different purpose, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.
05Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)#
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR requires us to tell you the legal bases on which we use your personal information:
- Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure and working (server logs) and replying to inquiries. You can object at any time (section 11).
- Contract: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing a contract, when you ask about or engage our services.
- Legal obligation: keeping records and responding to lawful requests when the law requires it.
The two settings saved in your browser are strictly necessary to provide features you ask for (showing the site in your language and remembering your privacy choice), so they do not require consent. We do not currently rely on consent for any processing; if we ever do, you may withdraw it at any time.
06How we share information#
We do not sell or share your personal information. We do not sell personal information, do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the past 12 months.
We disclose personal information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers. Companies that host the site or our email process information on our behalf, under obligations of confidentiality, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements. When the law requires it, for example to comply with a subpoena, court order or other valid legal process.
- Protection of rights. For information other than server logs, when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Jactechnology, our clients or others, including to investigate fraud or security incidents.
- Business transfers. If Jactechnology is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of its business, information other than server logs may pass to the successor, which will remain bound by this policy for information collected under it.
- At your direction. When you ask us to share information, for example to coordinate with a vendor you work with.
Server logs are never sold and, apart from being processed by a hosting provider on our behalf, are disclosed only as required by law. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
07Third-party services and links#
Some features take you to services run by others. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, not this one:
- Gmail (Google LLC) and Outlook on the web (Microsoft Corporation), if you choose them in the contact form;
- our client support portal at support.jact.tech, a separate service for existing clients that is governed by its own terms; and
- any other website we link to.
Our product overview page
Our Multi-Retail AI overview page (/jcreports2.html) was built separately from the rest of the site. When you open it, your browser also downloads an icon font from cdnjs.cloudflare.com, a content delivery network operated by Cloudflare, Inc., and a text font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), operated by Google LLC. To deliver those files, these providers receive your IP address and browser information, and Google may also see that the request came from our site; they handle that information under their own privacy policies. We receive no data from them, and they set no cookies for us. Any display preference that page remembers, such as a light or dark theme, stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
Every other page on the site, including the home page and this policy, loads all of its files from our own server.
08How long we keep information#
- Server logs: no longer than 90 days, after which they are deleted.
- Emails: as long as needed for our business relationship with you, or as long as the law requires us to keep records. After that, we delete them.
- Settings in your browser: until you clear them. They are under your control at all times (see the Cookie & Storage Notice).
09Security#
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. For example, the site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, our pages run no third-party scripts, and we limit access to personal information to the people who need it for the purposes in this policy.
No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email is not a secure channel: please do not send passwords, payment card numbers or other sensitive information by email or through the contact form. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you where the law requires.
10International visitors#
We are based in the United States, and we process personal information in the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. If you visit the site or write to us from outside the United States, including from the Caribbean, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where your local law requires a basis for that transfer, we rely on the grounds it allows, such as the transfer being necessary to answer your request or to take steps toward a contract with you.
11Your privacy rights#
Depending on where you live, and on whether a particular law applies to us, you may have the rights below. We honor them as the applicable law requires, and we will consider any reasonable privacy request even where no law requires it.
United States
Residents of California (under the CCPA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with similar consumer privacy laws may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of information, its sources, the purposes for which we use it and the categories of recipients, and to get a copy of it;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we have collected from or about you, subject to exceptions the law allows;
- Receive a portable copy of your personal information in a commonly used format;
- Opt out of the sale of personal information, its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do none of these;
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. We do not collect it; and
- Appeal our decision on your request (section 12).
Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, you have the right to access your personal information, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, such as the authority in the country where you live or work (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Other countries
If you live elsewhere, including in the Caribbean, you may have similar rights under your local law. Contact us and we will respond as that law requires.
12How to exercise your rights#
- Send a request. Email jcaceres@
jactechnologygroup.com with the subject “Privacy request”. Tell us which right you want to exercise and the state or country where you live. - Verification. We verify requests in a reasonable way, usually by matching details you give us with information we already hold, for example by replying to the email address you used to write to us. We ask only for what we need and use it only to verify your request. Because server logs record IP addresses rather than names, we may not be able to link a log entry to you; if so, we will tell you.
- Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. As the law allows, we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.
- Our response. We respond within the time the applicable law requires and will tell you if we need an extension that the law permits. Requests are free of charge.
- Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying with the subject “Privacy appeal”. We will tell you in writing what we decided and why. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General, or, in the EEA or UK, your data protection supervisory authority.
13No discrimination#
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. We will not deny you services, charge you a different price or provide a different quality of service because you made a privacy request.
14Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control#
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because we do not track visitors over time or across other websites, there is nothing for that signal to switch off, and the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends it.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). GPC is a browser setting that tells websites you want to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. We honor GPC as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing, and of any non-essential category of processing we might add in the future. When your browser sends GPC, our privacy notice shows “Global Privacy Control detected and honored.” Because we do not sell or share personal information, you do not need to do anything else.
Your privacy choice. On your first visit, the site shows a short privacy notice. Pressing “Got it” saves your acknowledgment in jt_consent, and the “Privacy choices” link in the footer of every page reopens the notice at any time. There are no optional categories to turn on today. If we ever add one, we will update this policy before it is used, and GPC will continue to be honored as an opt-out.
15Children’s privacy#
The site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
16Changes to this policy#
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the site or the law changes. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and we will note material changes prominently on the site. We will not use personal information we already hold in a materially different way without telling you and, where the law requires, asking for your consent.
Effective date: October 5, 2026. Last updated: October 5, 2026.
This policy is published in English and Spanish. The Spanish version is a courtesy translation; if the two differ, the English version controls.
